Mt. Carmel church is a passionate, caring group of United Methodist, Baptists, and a few other denominations as well. If you think there is a discernable difference in the various denominations, come by and worship with us one Sunday morning at 11:00 and try to pick out one from the other. You can’t! I can’t. We are all Christians worshiping the same God, in the same way. That’s how it will be in heaven, you know. Jesus will not have anything to do with denominations. You either are a Christian, or you are not. If you are not, you won’t be in heaven anyway. Make sure you are there with us.
I happen to be the United Methodist pastor. There is also a Baptist pastor. Eddy preaches on the first and third Sundays. My days are 2nd and 4th Sundays. I tell you that so guests will know who’s who. We both preach Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, and the difference He can make in a life.
We as a church do our best to follow the instructions of Jesus. He said to feed the hungry. We donate to a food bank. He said to help the needy. We give to those in need. He said to go and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We evangelize at every opportunity. We do these things and more because Jesus said to love one another as I have loved you. These are just some of our ways of showing that love to others.
