Congregational Worship Statement
Mt. Carmel Church in Vilonia Arkansas, is long-established and denominationally diverse in its make-up. It is a single, united congregation made up of Free Will Baptist and United Methodist followers of Christ. Each Sunday the church comes together in the spirit of humility to worship with a Free Will Baptist Minister on the first and third Sunday and a United Methodist Minister on the second and fourth Sunday.
Singing of Hymns, the Sacrament of Communion, and fellowship, are vital components of worship at Mt. Carmel Church. Most importantly it is the worship of the Lord Jesus Christ that unifies two denominations into one church. It is the unity in Christ that calls loudly for the creation of a Christian Worship Statement.
Christian worship is the response of God’s people to the revealed nature and character of God. The more we come to know and understand God; His love, mercy, grace and power, the more we understand His worthiness and long to worship Him. Sunday worship is the culmination of the worship of God that happens throughout the week in the life of the believer; expressed in the heart with prayers of supplication and intercession, in the mind with acts of piety, and with the body in acts of service.
Congregational worship at Mt. Carmel Church is focused on the gathering of believers of all ages into a single body focused on honoring and glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ in worship. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, worship consists of expressions of love and adoration through prayer, study, preaching, singing, communion and baptism, culminating in the sending forth of the body of Christ for Christian service in the world.
In brief, you should know the following about us: our church was established in 1907 and has been responsible for providing an outstanding place to worship. We are a Methodist church(2nd and 4th Sunday) and Baptist church(1st and 3rd Sunday). Our goal is to worship God, edify, spread the gospel and enjoy fellowship.
